Maya 2011 Export of Sub D's

Can some one tell me how they have been able to get sub D geometry into UVLayout. The OBJ extension in maya will not export an I assume import Sub D's. Checking UVLayout I did not see another extension that maya has that UVLayout will accept. Embarassed

Not sure about Maya 2011, but in every other version of Maya I've used, you put the SUBD surface into polygon proxy mode, then select it and export it. The cage gets saved to the OBJ, and then in UVLayout you load that in with "SUBD" selected.

Or use the Maya transfer plugin here ...
