Hi Phil,
Okay - so looking for a button or maybe workflow suggestions for this issue...
I have existing mesh with UVs (from UVLayout) - I add some geometry to the mesh and re-enter UVLayout in edit mode. In the 2D Edit screen I can see the new geometric as blue - I undrop all the blue back into 3d Edit. In the 3D edit screen the mesh has a lot of seams that I did not intend. Shift+D for each and every (sometimes I add a lot of geometry - sometimes UVLayout adds seams for every edge) is a pain. So question is ... is there a complete mesh reset for the 3D editor - some method to reset the mesh (only mesh in 3D editor) with a single button?
Hope that made sense... thanks!

If you load the OBJ with "New" selected in the load options, then all existing UVs are discarded.
But if you want to keep some, then yes, use Shift-D ... if you type it with the mouse pointer over empty space, then you'll be able to use the left mouse button to draw a box around all the shells you want to undrop.
That moves them from the UV space back "up" to the Ed space. Once there, you'll need to use Shift-D again, to join them all back together, if you want to select different seams.

Hey thanks! Drawing the selection box is what I needed! No more picking for days! Ha ha!
