Hello All,

UVLayout v2.08 is now available for all users from ...

http://www.uvlayout.com/update

New tools added in this version:

- Cut Drag Mode : Select the first cut edge, then draw out the
mouse pointer to select the edge loop to the desired length. The
location of the mouse pointer also determines the direction taken
at forks.

- Set Size : You can now set the exact size of the UV square in
real-world dimensions. This allows you to keep the texture density
consistent across multiple objects, no matter what size they are.

- Install Maya Plugin : The Maya plugin files are now included with
the UVLayout installer, and an "Install Maya Plugin" button has
been added to the UVLayout GUI for easy setup. The Maya plugin now
also supports the transfer of multiple objects in or out of groups.

Changes to existing tools:

- OBJ Save : Exported OBJ files are now formatted exactly like
the original imported OBJ, changing only the UV coords. This
is equivalent to what the Update button used to do, but its now
done automatically.

- Lighting : There is now a touch of ambient lighting in the
scene to make details in shaded areas clearer. The level of
ambient lighting can be adjusted with the Display Light button.

- I/K Hotkeys : Now duplicates the behaviour of the C hotkey,
including the new drag mode for drawing out edge loops.

For more info on any of these changes, check the User Guide.

Phil

"oh well the update will have to wait until my tax bill is paid"

That fine, its not going anywhere :) You can renew your support subscription at any time, and you get 1 year of access from the payment date, so there's no need to panic if your subscription has expired and you cant afford to renew it right away.

Also, if your support has just expired, you still have some time to download the update. There's a 30 day window after your support expires when you can still access the downloads.

just installed it and didn't have a Maya plugin install option.... Never-mind...I thought you meant it was an option on the install panel. It's under the "About UVLAyout" button after install. MY bad. Thank you
