I don't know what is going on but after cutting and flattening my object, when I save it, and load it in another program to assign materials, it won't load the object. It say's the object has no facet information. I don't know what I may be doing differently than before as I have never had this problem before. I am using the latest version of uv layout. any idea what I may or may not be doing correctly? Thanks

Instead of using "Save", try the "Update" button. You select the original OBJ (the one you first loaded into UVLayout) and it creates a copy of that with all the existing materials and normals, and only changes the UVs.

I had tried the update button and that didn't work either. So I just exported the saved mesh again from the program I created it in, and took that one into UV and it worked fine. Thanks Wink
