"flatten out sculpt tool and other uv edit brushes be able to use in the 3d view, with texture on."
Not currently, but we plan to at least allow you to see the 3D while editing the 2D view. The "dual" window mode is right at the top of the wish list.
"abiltiy to use your own textures ;) "
That you can do. Its the "Map" option under the Preferences panel.
"a nice user friendly intertface, "
The basic layout probably wont change for a while yet, but I do have plans at least to allow for different looking buttons. I recently did some tests and confirmed that, in the GUI API I'm using, I could swap the simple text labels I now have for full color bitmaps.
"and a layout of the keyboard and mouse with what functions are bound to which. "
Yep, that's in the wish list too, under "User defined colors, hotkeys, buttons".

I hope you can consider keeping the current UI as an optional choice for those that
have gotten used to it (like me ) ... it functions just fine and fast after all this
time using UVLayout. |

Long time users shouldn't panic :-) I like the current GUI too (that's why it wont change for a while) and there will be the choice if I ever make any changes.

Hi Phil,
First of all, great app.
To my knowledge (and I've looked around a lot) it's the only commercial application that will let you preview prman smooth UVs. I'm using prman with smooth UVs on my subdiv surface but the problem is I'm missing 2 features that aren't available anywhere on the market.
1. For 2d texture painting: The ability to export a snapshot of the smooth subdivided UVs.
2. For 3d texture painting: The ability to export a subdivided polygon mesh that represent the subdiv surface at different subdividion level with smooth UVs.
I think these would be a great addition to UV layout especially since a lot of people are looking for that functionality in the industry.
Cheers,
Yann |

"The ability to export a snapshot of the smooth subdivided UVs."
Hmm, interesting. OK, I'll have a look at that sometime soon! All the code is there, its just a matter of connecting the bits.
"The ability to export a subdivided polygon mesh"
You can do that in CySlice, and I think you guys have a floating license for that. I'll send details in email.
