I've found that the segment tool unwraps meshes in a way that leave a very small amount of room between one edge and another (edges that are not corresponding), as well as creating overlapping UVs.

Would it be possible to have it take bleed and overlapping shells into account?
If possible could it be rolled into the weld gaps tool as well?

The overlaps is a bug ... I've seen it every now and then, especially on more curved shapes, so will see if I can fix that once and for all.

And while I'm doing that, I'll have a go at the other problem too (i.e. ignoring bleed settings).
