Hey I was wondering if there is a way to have the GUI tabs open with the main dock on Linux. It also doesn't maximize under Linux.. |

It sounds to me like your UVLayout is confused about the size of the desktop. If it thinks there's not enough room to grow the main GUI window, then it'll automatically create those floating panels. Also the "not maximizing" suggests the same bug.
Which version are you running? Click the "About UVLayout" button for the build date. I did fix some desktop size type bugs a while back, but they may only be in the latest beta release.

Is the build date around Jul 25 2012? That's the one that has some workarea fixes and additional trace calls for debugging. If you dont have that one, install it and the floating panels thing might go away. If you do have it already though, let me know here and I'll email info on how to turn on the debugging log so I can get a better idea of whats gone wrong.

OK, grab and install the July 25th build then from your uvlayout.com Support Extras page. That might fix the problem.

Ok I have the latest version running but it doesnt fix the full screen option when it opens, or pressure the maximize button.
Also the tabs/panels still break off. I though there was an option for this under the GUI preferences but nothing seems to work. |

OK, I'm sending email with further instructions on how to generate a run log ... that'll give me extra info about the problem.

Ok I followed the instructions.
Do I need to send you the log file, where is it stored? |

Here's the final step from the instructions ...
"5) Finally, click on the blue Run Log button to load the run log into the default text editor. From here you can save that out to a new file, then attach it to email."
Is the file not opening up when you do that? If not, by default you'll find the TXT file in /tmp.
