O.K.. my birdbath has been put into poser and it's there I made the groups.. base..stem..basin.. and so far seems to work... now I need to know how to save the UV map so that I can texture it.. .jpg or something like that.. I could only see the .uvl..obj..pty.. I think was the last one.

You need to generate your map file...
To do this, open the Render menu.
The documentation page http://www.uvlayout.com/doc/User_Guide:_Render has all the skinny on it; but basically, for a quick starter you can turn on the outlines, and click save.
This will open a preview window from which you can use Ctrl-S to save it with an appropriate name for you to edit later - save as a .tiff for now, because you won't lose any detail using .tiff.
Use Paint, Gimp or Photoshop or whatever to actually draw onto your map... Once you've finished editing, then you save a copy as .jpg for use with Poser - keeping your original as a .tiff for further editing later. |

I must admit I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't think of looking in the PDF I downloaded.
Thank you. |

No worries - even looking in the manual, it's easy to miss until you've gone through a few times because there's so much to take in. |
