Can I prevent the C key from selecting edge loops and instead select one edge at a time ?

Or in the latest release (v2.08.00) you can set it to the new "D" mode. Press and release the C key to select one edge, or press and hold to select the first edge, then drag the mouse pointer to expand the selection in whatever direction you want.

What about the ability to select faces, and the edges around the faces are where the cut lines are placed ?

You can "paint" faces with the G key, and then detach those directly with the Enter key (i.e. it doesn't make cut edges, it just pulls off the G selected region under the mouse pointer).

This is perfect how do you deselect polygons in-case you selected the wrong ones ?

Now UV mapping is how I exactly want it Smile

The O key did nothing except change to Orthographic view.

It's the '0' - zero - button that is on the edit panel that you need to use, not pressing the letter 'O' keyboard key.

"how do you deselect polygons"

You can find that in the hotkeys here ...

... and have a look at the UVLayout-Marking-Polys movie under the Basic Videos for all the poly marking tips ...

Thanks, and thanks also to Geoff, I would have overlooked, as I never gave those buttons any focus, until now Smile
