I'm mapping a sci-fi hanger. I did the first wall no problem.
The second wall locked up when I hit the enter button to make a weld.
Well I had been updating all along, per usual, so I took a look at the save in c4d to see if I might just call it a day at the last save.

The previously updated file did not map in c4d, it was all eratic, not like the pic below, but all stretched out.

I'm posting because, I'm wonder if it locked on the weld because I crossed boxes?
My weld, I think, was trying to pull a piece out of another box.

I think I may have corrected some bad geometry, that hopefully, led to the implosion.

Yes, everything is sorted.

I do notice that it will lock with the red exclamation point when welding a large piece.
If I save to the .uvl, like you said on another thread, it starts right back up fine.
And it will happen less after that. memory leak?

Probably not a leak (check the process ram usage for that) because I'm fairly good usually at plugging those. But if the internal data structures get corrupted for some reason, then a save and reload will reset all those data structures to a clean state.

Of course the data structures aren't ever supposed to get corrupted, no matter how messy the mesh might be, and I'll fix those bugs whenever I find out about them. I did fix one recently, which made it into the v2.08.00 pre-release beta; you can get that from your uvlayout.com Support Extras page if you've got a Pro license and up-to-date support subscription.

Yes, you grab the top-most one appropriate for your operating system ... EXE for Windows, DMG for OS X, and TGZ only if you're a Linux user.
