Hi Phil,
I encountered a fatal error. I use the G option to flatten all the shells and after that I choose update to update the file. When UVL starts saving I get the error.
I've attached the problem file.
Could you take a look what is wrong here.
I used Moi3D to construct this doodle.
Peace,
Rich_Art.

I ran out of time today to look at the problem, but hope to tomorrow.

I loaded your OBJ, did the Segment (one shell messed up, so I undropped, cut a seam by hand then resegmented those pieces), then ran the Update, which worked OK.
Maybe try again ... it could have been a one-off glitch. If not, can you save out a UVL file before you do the Update, then send me that file? I can then load the UVL and been in the exact same state you are there before running the Update.

Thanks Phil,
Tonight after work I'll fire-up UVL and do as you told.
I'm just searching for the best way to export from Moi3D into UVL and from there to OBJ for import in C4D.
So I hope this fatal error is an exception because I really like the combo of Moi3D->UVL->C4D/Vray

Hi Phil,
Here is the UVL version of the file. I still get the error when updating the OBJ file.
Thanks so far.

Yep, that worked ... I'm getting the fatal error here now, so that makes it a lot easier to fix. I'll let you know how that goes ...

Fixed! It was crashing out on the update to one of those polys with over a hundred vertexes.
The fix is in a new Windows installer on the uvlayout.com Support Extras page. I'll probably leave uploading OS X and Linux versions for another week or so as I'm in the middle of adding other things at the moment.

Ah thanks Phil. Wonderful to hear you've found the error and a Fix.
Just told some users on my forum how great UVL is and your support as well.
I believe you have a couple new costumers now.
I'll download the new installer tonight after getting back from work.
(If my license is still valid, I believe it expires any day now. )
Peace,

"I believe it expires any day now."
Heaps of time ... another 60 days until you need to hassle me for an extension :)

Ahh ok, well that is nice to hear. I thought any day. But 60 days is still a long period.
Thanks for telling.
