I have 2 shells which appear to be locked and for the life of me I can't unlock them. I've tried hitting L on each shell and L then rmb dragged but nothing. They just sit there with their massive grey borders and taunt me. Also when I use the texture preview "T" nothing shows up on them and they won't move when packing.

Would really love any suggestions

Thanks

Sorry about delay ... just got back from a busy trip.

It looks like they haven't been flattened, so that's why they wont pack and no texture shows on them. Not sure how they got locked though ... sounds like a bug! A possible workaround would be to undrop them (Shift-D) then redrop and flatten as usual.

Phil

I came to say that I've just had this happen to me... I remembered this post and thought I'd add my 'me too's worth...

However... when I saw your suggested work around Phil, and since I still had it open in the background, I tried that and it did indeed work. The shell is now unlocked properly and I can process it as normal.

I had flattened it before it became locked though, so it must be some sort of edge condition in the program. If I can find a way to replicate the situation I'll be sure to let you know, but since un-dropping, re-dropping and re-flattening seems to have sorted it out, there must be something more to it than just that process.
