After flattening a UV and then clicking on the window with all the buttons I get this cmd window come up saying soemthing about a license. It makes me unable to do anything with UVLayout for a minute or two and then everything starts working again. Some times it stays frozen and I have to close it with taskmanager and lose all my work.

What gives?

(Really loving the porgram btw Very Happy)

Weird!

Does it do that every time you click on the buttons window?

Because the demo is timed to expire after a month or so, its checking the current system time every now and then. I'm wondering if there's something odd about the time on your system that's confusing it?

It happens if I try to use the button window after flattening a UV. I'm under the impression you can use the demo as long as you want if you download the new one every 40 days? If you're only ment to use the demo once then thats probably why. Weird that if I leave it long enough it lets me carry on though.

Windows time seems alright to me. Should I check the bios time?

You should be able to use it as much as you want in that month or so.

Maybe something got corrupted, so try uninstalling, download the demo again, and reinstall.

Ok, I'll try reinstalling it. I'm probably gonna go all crazy and splash out on a student copy anyway Razz

Reinstalling didn't help Sad

It's really weird how I can use all the hotkeys and everything works fine aslong as I don't touch the window with the buttons in it. If I do everthing freezes.

Ohhhhh, Ok. It has nothing to do with that cmd window at all. I brought that up by right clicking on the program on the task bar (in win 7) and then clicking the applications name which I just realise opens another instance of the program. So I guess that cmd window is too do with it not letting you open multiple instances of it.

So basically it's just freezing. Running Win7 pro 64 bit, got an ati 5850 card and I'm running dual monitors. Suspecting something their might be the problem. I only reformated last week so It's not like I have a ton of junk on my PC.

Update: Still doing it with a single monitor.

Going to go to bed now.

Well I don't know what to try. If you can help me get it to stop freezing then you can have my money! Can't really payout for something that isn't working though D:

I don't know if this will help, it's the "problem details" I get when I close it with taskmanager:

I don't think the problem is clicking on the window with the buttons anymore, I think it's changing to any window after working in the viewport one.

It's definately swapping away from the viewport window that causes it to freeze.

OK, I've had another user report the same problem, and it seems to be isolated to the latest Demo. See here for more info ...

I think I might have fixed this one! Grab the new demo installer from the usual spot and let me know if you still get the locking up.
