I remember a while back when Phil Dench told me that scaling up a shell then relaxing it can help to speed up the solve (make it really big to see fast results) . Something to do with the algorihim working better using this method.

Well this method definately does work great with pipes and various other shapes.

My question is could we have this as a special command/hotkey as the shift-F method create poor results for a lot of these shapes.

Shift-B will now make the shell under the mouse pointer 50% bigger.

It'll be in the next release ... I hope to do a beta (i.e. download from Support Extras page) next week sometime.

Could it be added as a one key feature (scale and relax)?
Also I think that 5 times the scale would be better 50%.

Yep, I can do that. I'll make the scale factor a preference setting, because 5x may be too high in some cases.
