Hello All,
There's yet another UVLayout Windows installer now up on the uvlayout.com Support Extras page. This one fixes the overlapping bug mentioned above.

I saw that overlapping too. But I thought it was an issue with the model (some verticies not welded) but I had not had a chance to go over the model closely yet to see if that was the case or if it was a bug. |

It would be nice if we could optionally add some cuts before segmenting to help it along the way. I know i could do this conventionally but segment seems to flatten these sorts of surfaces better. the regular method needs lots of straightening usually |

"optionally add some cuts before segmenting"
OK, I'll look at that for a future release. I have to resist adding more things to this current release because I want to get it out before the end of the week.
By the way, there's yet another Windows installer on the Extras page. This adds an "Align Shells to Axes" toggle to the "Pack" panel which will square shells up during packing, and that includes the final stage of the Segment tool. Normally shells are oriented like they are in the original 3D model (i.e. if a block is leaning over, it will be in UV), but often its preferable to have your rectangular polys/shells lined up with the pixel grid.

All pre-release installers have just been deleted from the Extras page. You'll now find the "official" releases (Windows, OS X and Linux) on the normal Download pages, and videos under the Advanced section.
