Hello All,

UVLayout v2.04 is now available for all users from ...

New features added to the Professional version only:

- Pack tool : Added new Rotate option. When ticked, shells are
rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees to see if that produces better
packing. A video showing this in action can be found under
the Advanced videos at www.uvlayout.com/videos

- Render tool : Added new Smooth SUBD UVs option. When ticked,
SUBD surface UVs are smoothly subdivided according to Renderman's
Smooth UVs option. Currently only works with quad meshes.

Changes to existing features in all versions:

- Pack tool : Up to 2 times faster, and the bleed distance between
shells outside boxes is much closer to the bleed distance within
boxes.

- G marked polys : Are now shaded with a subtle glow effect,
making them easier to see in shadowed areas.

Bugs fixed in all versions:

- Pack tool : Left unused space in the concave areas of N-sided
polygons.

- Resizing windows : Under Mac OS X, displayed lots of garbage
and sometimes caused problems with picking.

- Plugin mode : Save and Tmp buttons stored files in non-obvious
locations, making them sometimes hard to find.

A nice update. The rotate feature will be very nice to use, and I'm glad you included the ability to lock rotation on whichever shells you'd rather not be affected. Keep up the good work!

By the way, UVLayout v2.04.01 is now available for Professional users.

Bugs fixed:

- A potential fatal error when shells were detached after the
Symmetry Find tool was used.
