|
|
Is there a way to change the point about which a model (or the camera) rotates in 3D view?
For instance, suppose I would like to select some edges for cutting located at the end of a character's finger. It would be nice if I could select an edge, and then hit a key to frame that edge in the 3D window and make the camera now rotate about that edge (its midpoint or one of its endpoints) instead of the default center of the entire body's geometry. Additionally, a way to do the same for the last selected edge endpoint would make it easier to chain together long edge selections across complex geometry.
Is this functionality currently built into UVLayout? If not, do you have any plans to add this feature? It really speeds up the workflow. (While you're at it, could you possibly add support for 3dconnexion's peripherals? They also really speed workflow ). |

Hi, to change the focus point of the view rotation to a specific part of the model just place the mouse pointer over the part and press the " Home " key. You can do the same for a shell by pressing the " End " key instead. |

Thanks for the info, Lewi.
Since this is an operation I would like to use a lot, it would be nice if I could remap this operation to a different key, as I find the END key and NUMPAD 5 keys a bit of a stretch with my left hand (my right hand operates the mouse). |
