When I import a set of UVs on a massive scale, there is a vertical line cut straight down all of the UVs - both in saving and in loading (on edit) You can see the chewed off bits in my screengrab.
Preferably I wouldn't be working at such a massive scale bigger than 0-1 in UV space, but this is a special case where we need a precise scaling in centimeters and so there is a particular size the UVs need to be.

Sorry, what you're going to have to do is scale the UVs down (looks like a factor of 100) before feeding them into UVLayout, then scale them up afterwards. Actually, a factor of 100 would give you measurements in meters, which ain't so bad, is it?
