Hello All,
The Beta development period is coming to an end! This doesn't mean that work on UVLayout will stop; there's plenty of things on the wish list that need to be implemented. We will still be providing regular updates to customers who purchase Professional licenses, and 6 monthly updates for Student and Hobbyist licenses.
Here's the expected release schedule:
30 Aug 2007 - The last day we will be generating the 30day Beta licenses. After this date, UVLayout will only be available as a limited Demo version from http://www.uvlayout.com/try, or via purchase from http://www.uvlayout.com/buy.
14 Sep 2007 - The last day that the special pre-release discounted prices apply for the Ether, Dongle and Floating licenses. After this date, the prices shown below come into effect.
Thank you all for the bug reports and suggestions for improvements over the last couple of years, and we hope your interest in UVLayout will continue into the future.
Phil

I think a thanks to you is on the place here.
You've made (in my eyes) the best Uv-unwrapper that is available.
Big thumbs up Phil.
Peace,
Rich_Art. |

Good luck with the launch. Don't forget to arrange some reviews in the CG press. |

Great news! Can't wait to see and work with the final release.
I am sorry, but the chart is a bit confusing to me.
What I would like to know is, how do our current licenses "transfer" to the new licensing setup?
I mean ie. : current ether = future hobbyist/current dongle = future professional, or something like that? Or will those of us who already purchased an ether license be on the professional version regardless of future license type and then will have to update accordingly once the support period is over? |

If you've already purchased an Ether license, or do between now and the release date, you'll automatically become a Professional customer and will receive all those benefits. You wont have to pay anything additional, other than the usual optional subscription fee due 12 months after the release.

Great news! Thanks Phil!
I guess I'll have to pay some extra once the support period is over for the dongle or will you keep pro-ether licensing?! |

People with existing Ether licenses can keep them, and I'm happy to generate new licenses for free, but within reason, as you upgrade your hardware.
You can upgrade to a Professional Dongle license at anytime for US$125, and that'll give you the freedom to run UVLayout where ever you want.

Congrats Phil on the end of the beta period. It's come on a long way since I started using UVLayout. The amazing core unwrapping was always there but it is much more of a functional tool now especially with the latest releases. You still have a wishlist as long as your arm (which is a good sign) and I have a few suggestions I'd like to add after using it in a production environment that would really help with productivity.
Really nice job on the most elegant unwrap tool available. |

Congrats Phil! It has been certainly a long way but it has worth it, UVLayout is the best!
On a side note I have a question regarding the move to a dongle license from an ether license: How can we this be done? Will this option be available later? I ask because I don't see it right now in the buy page.
Thanks in advance Phil! |

So wanting to be clear, Phil.
I can purchase an ether license now for 175USD.....and automatically become a professional customer (with symmetry find etc) and later on upgrade to dogle or if I upgrade computer at a later stage, have a new key generated if I do not go for the dongle option?
