Phil - is there a way to turn on a grid in the UV layout so that you can see it? When snapping edges to straight lines, it would be really handy to have something I could line up against. I tried this recently with several pieces of a hair model and lets just say my idea of a straight line and reality's don't actually correspond. |

Sorry about the stupid question. |

You should also look at the edge straightening tool; use the 'S' hotkey to tag a pair of end points, then double tap 'S' (or Shift-S) on a point between them to straighten that edge. Its covered in the UVLayout-Beta-v1.15A.mov video I think, and you might find anchor points handy too (see UVLayout-Beta-v1.16C.mov).

Thanks Phil - I was using the S key for the tag points but was trying to line them up by eye. Once I turned on point snapping - it became much easier to line up the two tag points in a proper horizontal and vertical straight line.
Is there a way to make the grid smaller? Or is it stuck at the default size? |

The numbers to the right of the U and V snapping selections are the divisions per unit square; increase these to get smaller grids.

Yeah - I figured that out after I wrote the above.
I should really fiddle first, ask questions later. Thanks for the help though Phil - I appreciate it. |
