Is there a way to toggle that red grid in the UV view ?

I have one Uv at the other side of the word..and I think the grid make me lag I cant scroll or zoom .. its taking foreever

Try clicking in the "Auto Fit" button in the main GUI window. That'll rescale the UVs so that everything is inside the single red square, then you can deal with your errant shell. I recommend using Home to focus on it, then undrop it with Shift-D, then you can drop it back down and it should end up with the other shells.
