Hello All,

If you have a Professional Dongle license, then there's now a UVLayout beta for Lion available from your uvlayout.com Support Extras page.

Known problems are ...

- Ether ID is detected as "00000000", which is why it wont work for anyone with an Pro Ether license.

- Can't edit any of the GUI text fields. If you have a Pro Floating license, this means you can't set the license server name.

- H/G hotkey menus not showing at the bottom of window, but the hotkey sequences still work if you know them (e.g. H-U will still unhide all polys).

- The floating GUI panels are not getting focus by default, so you have to click once to focus, then click a second time to press any of the buttons inside that panel. This can be fixed by ticking X11 -> Preferences -> Windows -> Focus Follows Mouse.

If you come across any other problems, I'd love to know :)

Phil

Thanks Phil - I got the updated version working OK. There are a couple of GUI glitches, but the important thing is it works.

Thanks again for your hard work.

Damn, the wonders of having bought the Hobbyist version! Well, I am happy to hear about the positive progress.

Dont worry, once I get the Pro version working better, I'll build the other versions.

Hello All,

There's now Lion installers for both the Pro and Hobbyist versions of UVLayout. You'll find them in the normal download areas (i.e. your uvlayout.com Support Download page).

I've fixed the Ether ID and text field bugs I think, so people with Pro Ether and Pro Floating licenses can now use this build.

Remaining known problems are ...

- H/G hotkey menus not showing at the bottom of window, but the hotkey sequences still work if you know them (e.g. H-U will still unhide all polys). There may be other things not displaying until I work out whats going on here.

- The floating GUI panels are not getting focus by default, so you have to click once to focus, then click a second time to press any of the buttons inside that panel. This can be fixed by ticking X11 -> Preferences -> Windows -> Focus Follows Mouse.

/bow

Oh, thank you so much Phil. I really appreciate this.

I'd love to upgrade my license to a pro to say thanks for standing by your product. Is there any way to do that without paying for it all over again?

I deeply, deeply appreciate you doing this.

The only reason why I didn't buy the pro version was the Dongle.. I hate carrying those around Sad

Phil,

I've given both the pro and the hobbyist version a really good shake, and have found both very stable. I've had one kernel panic that took down my whole system, but the crash logs point to Maya, not to you.

The only repeatable bug I've found is with the pro version. If you have "do not resize shells" selected, and then try to pack more shells than can fit - it will freak out and attempt to do this infinitely. Other than that, it's amazingly stable.

Hello Bri,

> it will freak out and attempt to do this infinitely.

Yikes, sounds like a general bug and not Lion related,so I'll get on to that ASAP. Thanks for all the testing and good news about stability under Lion!

"any ETA on an update with the fixed text overlays?"

Starting work on that one today. Hopefully ETA in a couple of days?

"send from Maya suddenly stopped working"

Someone else has reported the same bug, but I'm still walking them through some debugging steps to work out where the problem is. Email me if you want to help with that.
