I have made all these buttons (18 which I have halved) and which I need to stack. When I first put them into UV they are in one long line so I packed them up to look like this.
Now I am trying to follow the user guide and I have struck a problem already.. Embarassed

it says.." move an anchor shell away from other shells.. but when I .. space LMB.. or any other button.. the shell turns pink but won't move.. it just spins where it is or I can enlarge it.

I noticed that I couldn't move other things so have just been leaving it the way it was packed.. but now I need to fix these.

Ohh..yes.. this came up also.. is it something I need to worry about??

Hope someone can help me as I have made a cushion that's just not going to look right without it's buttons. Razz

First off.. to move a shell, you need to use 'space-MMB' - if you haven't got a middle mouse button, or wheel that clicks as a button, then you use left and right mous buttons together.

A list of all hot keys are shown on the help page at:
http://www.uvlayout.com/doc/User_Guide:_Hotkeys

Next thing: for stacking, you need to be able to click on exactly the same edge on each of the elements for stacking.

Finally, I've not seen the message about the big world import fix... however, it would appear that it's on the Preferences 'Load' tab underneath the 'Max Shells' option.

I've tried everything.. 2 mouse.. 3 mouse.. .. wheel.. pen.. and the combinations of the keys.. nothing is working. It just goes pink and revolves or enlargess when I try to move it.

I just know it's something I'm doing.. Embarassed

I can't think what would be the problem then; holding down the space bar and using the middle mouse button 'just works' on both Windows and Linux, I don't see any reason for it not working the same on a Mac.

As you see from the help page, left mouse button should do rotate, and right mouse button scale.

Shift and ctrl/cmd are only used with the middle mouse button - to move points and groups of points.

So long as you've got the middle mouse button sorted, everything else should come together.

Try changing the "Mouse Buttons" preference, and you need to reload the object after changing that to see any change.

It might be that UVLayout isn't recognizing your 3 button mouse as having 3 buttons, so you can force it to behave like a 2 button mouse, in which case the right button will act as a middle (to allow moves and pans) and then ctrl-right is used for zooming/scaling.
