I use the stack and pack method, and then I lock my shells. Then I click pack all and some boxes show that the one of the shells have flipped or rotated even though they are locked. Any suggestions? |

My bad. Its the new "Align Shells to Axes" toggle. When that's on, even locked shells get rotated during the packing; they should be left alone.
I'll fix this ASAP, and hope to have a new installer up tomorrow sometime.

There's a new Pro version installer on the uvlayout.com Support Download page which fixes the above bug.

hi,
I am having the same issue. But I do not have "Align Shells To Axes" ticked.
I am following the exact workflow from this video:
http://www.headus.com.au/doc/uvlayout-expert/videos/UVLayout-Stack-and-Pack.mov
1) press S hotkey over symmetrical shell to align mirrored shell. flip and drag (darker) mirrored shell underneath the original (grid snapping turned on).
2) marquee the stacked pair and under the PAck menu press New Box button.
3) follow steps one and two for the rest of the stackable shell pairs.
4) press hotkey L, and LMB marqee around entire set of green boxes.
-once I press Pack All -> the application hangs for a while, and then I need to abort the packing and end up with a mess of rotated shells. It appears that some of the boxes were locked and some weren't.
I have tried this workflow about five times, following the video and I keep getting this issue.
thanks

Yikes, it looks like you are correct! I'm sure this used to work, so I must have introduced a new bug when fixing another one.
I'll have that fixed for the next release, but in the meantime, you can work around it by using the square bracket ']' hotkey instead of the "Pack All" button. If you aim the mouse pointer at empty space and tap ']', then all shells and boxes will pack, but not their contents. The "Pack All" button repacks the box contents, which is what you don't want in this case.

Found the problem! If you turn Edit -> Symmetry to Off, then the packing works as expected. When symmetry is On, its ignoring the lock status and is rotating the shells for some reason.

Update: Bug has been fixed and will be in the next release. |

nice, that's really cool you found what the problem was so fast.
thank you so much. remembering to turn symmetry off before i pack the shells for this version is no problem.
cheers
