Hi People..

Somehow im stuck and maybe you can help me.
I did a piece of mesh(part of a face) in Max 9 and want to do a proper unwrap in Headus uvlayout.(stand alone)
I load the .obj file sucessfully into uvlayout. I can move, scale and rotate without problems.
I also have some green seams on the mesh wich i delete with the c/w keys...i create new seams with c/w keys.
When im triying to detach it with space/mmb i get in the lower left of the window this message:
"When in 3D view you cant move shells"
What do i wrong or do i have to start my workflow on another point.
Please enlighten me und i apologize if this question is stupid ..i read the .pdf and cant go on ....
Thank you in advance !!

edit:
I figured now out how to draw my own seams(b4 i had exported a mesh with already uvs on it) and detach them in ed mode...now i have 4 pieces in ed mode....how i go on??

"now i have 4 pieces in ed mode....how i go on?? "

Use the D hotkey to drop them down into UV space where they can be flattened with the F hotkey.

There's a "Quick Start" chapter towards the end of the User Guide that goes through these steps, plus a bunch of videos at uvlayout.com/videos. Have a look at the Head Tutorial to start with. There's a strip at the top that shows which keys are being used during the tutorial.

If you look at the top of most of the videos you'll see a sort of rolling ticker bar. That shows which keys and mouse buttons are being used. Dead handy.
