1. Is there a way to have UVlayout select the cuts symmetrically? As in when I select an edge on one side and press C it also selects the same edge on the other side?

2. Can I load an object that already has UVs and then use UV layout to just optimize it?

A couple of people I work with at Digital Domain pointed me here after showing me this great little app. Which also has a linux version I hear. Very Happy

Yes, its the Symmetry Find tool. You can see it in action in the Symmetry-Find-1 and Symmetry-Find-2 movies here ...

Again, yes. When you load the OBJ, select "Edit" in the options.

Yep. Windows, OS X and Linux.
