exporting to maya!! its driving me insane

this is my first time laying out uvs so bare with me!

i have created this brilliant layout all neatly done but now im stuck. i save the file as an obj but when i load/import the file back in maya its blank! im not sure what i am supposed to be seeing! when i update instead of save i get the same results.there isnt anything in the uv layout editor either so i thought i would load the file into z brush which seemed to work but then i did a uv check and half the model was still rubbish! but yet the uvs are great in uvlayout editor! please help

Yikes, that sounds bad! It definitely sounds like a bug, but not one I've seen before.

Can you email me the object in question? Three files would be good ... the OBJ before it goes into UVLayout, a UVL file of your perfect layout, and the OBJ exported by UVLayout. If I can see the files myself I should be able to come up with a fix or answer quite quickly.

I have the same exact problem except I'm using 3ds MAX 2010.

Again everything is how I want it to be in UVL but I don't see Unwrap UVW in the modifiers panel. its just my models unwrapped.

Need help ASAP much thanks.

Are you using the UVLayout to Max plugin? If not, I'd recommend having a look at it ...

It simplifies the transfer of meshes between UVLayout and Max, and may solve the problem you're having.
