I've been using the new r key feature and it's definitely a time saver when in UV mode.
One thing that doesnt seem to work so well is when you use r in Ed mode. If the pipe has tight corners with short polygons it doesnt mark all of the faces.

Is it an angle threshold issue? Might be better if it just selects the continous mesh.
This just means you cut up and prep your pipes prior to using r.

"Is it an angle threshold issue?"

Close ... its an area comparison, the theory being that if adjacent quads have similar area, then they're likely to be contiguous. Maybe the area change is too rapid in tight bends, but really they're not that tight in the video.

Can you send me that piece of geometry?

Phil
