I've noticed that sometimes - and I can't explain what causes it - two independent shells that are in symmetry mode stay locked together such that you cannot move, rotate, or scale them independently.

Anyone know what's causing this?

Yes, sorry, I've been meaning to fix that! What happens I think is that you cut out a section in the middle, leaving the left and right sides still virtually connected even though there's no physical attachment any more. The work-around is to G select one side and use Enter to detach it from the other side.

Ah, I see. The way I've been getting around it is to pick those shells back up again then drop them again. That seems to break their connection.
