This might be a bug, might not be...
I have a model I'm currently working on and if I have it in symmetry mode, whenever I go to "pack all" (Qulaity - Fast. Mid, and Best), UVLayout gives me an "Unknown Fatal Error Detected" message.
Now this doesn't happen at all when not in symmetry mode and I can pack it over and over again without problems.
But if I go to the 3D view and hit the Find button and it tags the symmetry, then go back to UV view and hit Pack, it gives me that error message. Every time. It makes no difference whether Fast, Mid or Best are selected.
As the title says, that's with 2.06.00, which I know is just a preview release, but I thought I should mention it.
This didn't happen with 2.05.02, BTW, even with the same model, which I'm redoing.
Windows 7 x64, if that makes a difference.
Edit:
I should also mention I'm getting random "Unknown Fatal Error Detected" messages when undoing, as well. That happened occasionally in 2.05.02, but it might be a little more frequent in 2.06.00.
Maybe I should check these things out on my other PC which still has 2.05.02 installed on it... |

Yesterday I fixed a fatal error bug with the packing ... its posssibly the same one! I'll be uploading a new build possibly tomorrow or first thing next week.
As for the undo, I'm still hunting that one. It might be mesh dependent, cause someone sent me a model that always causes the fatal error on undo. Stay tuned!

Hi Phil,
Sounds good, thanks.
Yeah, I just tried it several times on my other machine, which is also 64 bit Windows 7, using the same saved .uvl file, but with 2.05.02, and it didn't crash on packing at all.
I guess I'll go back to 2.05.02 on my main machine for now, too.
Is there any possibility in the future we could have multiple versions running on the same comp? |

You have to go into your Support Login and check under the "Extras" column on the left side of the page to find 2.06.00f, which is the latest version, just uploaded a day or two ago. |
