Oops...
Maybe I spoke too soon.
Now I'm getting the "unexpected fatal error" every time I hit the T key the 4th time for texture in 3D view.
Load .uvl file > in 3D view, hit T once, model gets checkered > hit T second time, model gets numbered > hit T third time, model goes to error mode > hit T fourth time... insta-crash, bam, unexpected fatal error.
Edit:
Hmmm... seems to be only happening with this one particular model of mine.
Unfortunately it's the one I need to be working on. |

OK, well it's happening to that same model in 2.05.02 also, but only for my most recent save. The previous version of that same model doesn't do that.
Very strange and I have no idea why. |

"I went on an undo rampage and didn't get any crashes"
Great! The bugs could have been related ... the packing was writing in bits of memory it wasn't supposed to, and that might have been the undo buffer.

Just for more information, if it helps any...
I have reinstalled 2.06.00d again. I uninstalled it after the T errors, then found the same thing happens in 2.05.02. so I reinstalled it, since it didn't matter.
Now, with that same model, after working on it for a while and doing a few more saves, the T crashing doesn't happen anymore. *shrug*
And in the course of all this, I've been undoing quite a bit, so that definitely seems better. |

OK, sounds a bit buggy still then. Someone else has already reported the "T" crash under OS X, but now it sounds like its spreading! I've just finished the "tmp and edit quick save full names" thing, so will stop adding new stuff now to concentrate on tracking down the fatal errors.

There have been times that I've wished that I had learned computer programming...
...and then there are times I'm glad I haven't.
Ignorance is bliss. |

Some good news ... I just got it to crash here after about 10 mins of messing around with different things. If I can duplicate the bug here its a lot easier to fix!

Sounds good Phil!
I've never seen anyone call a crash "good news" though.
But yeah, I know what you mean. |

BTW, I've been using and abusing 2.06.00d all this while now, working on this same project all morning , and aside from the T thing, everything else seems to be working fine.
Although, the T crash hasn't happened since I saved out that newer version. |

I just found the T crash bug I think ... it kicks in when you have any UVs outside the 0 to 1 tile. Does that match with what you've been seeing?

Yes. Exactly!
DOH! I can't believe I didn't think about that.
My saved version that it stopped happening with was after I had packed everything into 0-1. |

Excellent! I'll mess around some more, see if I can get it to crash doing other things, but it sounds like that particular bug has probably been fixed. I'll build and upload a new installer tomorrow.

Hello All,
There's a couple of new install files under the uvlayout.com Extras menu; one Windows, one Mac. This should hopefully fix the T hotkey crashes!

Hi Phil,
Yup, it seems that the "T crash" is gone in 2.06.00e.
At least it's not doing it now with the same .uvl file it was the other day, before I packed it all into 0-1. |
