I just downloaded the UVLayout Demo for MacOS this morning, and have been playing the videos while experimenting with a Lightwave model exported as obj. (I am very hopeful about this wonderful app!)

However ... If I press command-Z (undo) more than about a dozen times, UVLayout crashes without warning, and I lose my work to that point. I've done this twice, so I know it's repeatable.

This is an Intel quad core Xeon Mac Pro, OS X 10.5.7, 10 GB ram

Is this crash a demo-only bug, or is it also in the released product? And is there a way to set the number of undo's, to hopefully avoid this crash?

Thanks!

"Is this crash a demo-only bug, or is it also in the released product? "

The Demo and all released versions of UVLayout share the same code, so its likely its everywhere. This is the first time I've heard of such a bug though, so I'll have a play with the OS X Demo myself to see if I can repeat it.

"And is there a way to set the number of undo's,"

Not exactly. You can turn it off completely, or limit the amount of RAM in megs, but even 1Mb would be quite a few undos on simpler models. Anyway, you can access these under the Preferences panel, which you can get to by clicking on the "About UVLayout" button at the top of the GUI.

Thanks.

BTW, I tried to get it to crash a third time so I could send a screen-shot of the alert, but I was UNABLE to get it to crash a third time!

So whatever was happening can't be all that bad ... Smile

Best,

Hi cgbeige,

Are you referring to the open source version update 2.3.3.2 or is there a newer one from Apple that you have to manually update?

Did you have any luck using the newer version of X Quartz with respect to the OS X display bugs you originally posted about?
