Hi and welcome on the forum.

AFAIK this is not possible with UVL. You should make 1 scene in your 3D packaged with the 2 objects and export this to UVL.
I don't know which 3D packaged you use?

Peace,

LOL Do I know you? Very Happy

Merge both objects to 1 scene and export that with Riptide.
Now you can unwrap both objects to 1 UV .

Yup,well I know you.c4d cafe Wink
Do you have to use riptide at all?
I get no troubles exporting as a simple obj wavefront (export)

Yes I recommend you to use riptide. It is a much better exporter than the native C4D OBJ exporter.
Has to do with normals etc. But if you like the C4D OBJ exporter you're free to use that of course.

Conected the 2 objects in c4d export as wavefront obj.
Import in uv layout and re-pack gives this>
That's close to work though, just a little discoloration??

As you can see object 1 is slightly discolored, object 2 is also slightly discolored.
Got the same result with riptide btw.

As Rich_Art said, there is no way currently to load more than one OBJ at a time into UVLayout. Your objects will need to be combined in your favorite 3d modeling app.

"object 1 is slightly discolored"

Whats happening there is that the shells from one object are slightly smaller in UV space. If you viewed your combined object in the 3D view, with one of the grid textures on, the squares would be bigger on one object, and smaller on the other one. If you now applied a brick texture, the bricks would be different sizes on the different objects.

When the combined OBJ is loaded, UVLayout calculates that some UVs are compressed, and tints them red, and the others are tinted in the other direction (towards blue). Fixing this is easy though; click on the Rescale "&" under the Move/Scale/Rotate panel. That shrinks the shells that are too large, and scales up the ones that are too small.
