I had an unknown fatal error with the current professional trial after I used g to mark some polys on either side of a split in edit mode, accidentally hit enter cutting them out and try to undo.
I can reproduce that crash.

(Vista 64 bit.)

Could you send me a screenshot of what you're doing? Just hit F8 with the mouse pointer inside the 3D window, and a "snap.jpg" file should be created in the same folder as the loaded OBJ file.

Thanks,

Phil

sorry, I made a sequence of screenshots and thought I had saved them all to disk, (iview popped up each time, I clicked save as, chose a name and location) But strangely enough no image was created.. any idea why?

Anyways, it' really simple.
1. I detached an arm in edit view
2. cut into the detached arm from the seam inward
(so now I have a detached arm with a split biceps)
3. mark two or three polys on either side of the split using "g"
4. Hit "enter" to detach those two islands from the arm
5. undo

It's not something you wouldn't normally do obviously, but it can happen. Thought I'd share Wink

You're having a bad day :-) Do a filesystem search for snap0001.jpg, because that's what the first one will be called. You don't need to re-save from within iview, it'll just keep creating snap*.jpg files in sequence.

"Anyways, it' really simple."

It does sound like it, but I cant get it to go wrong here. That's why I thought an image would help, just to make sure we're doing the same thing.

The screenshots were in my user folder for some reason.

This screen shows the point at which I have to undo (sometimes twice) to provoke the crash..
