|

I know i can rotate the viewport lights but it would be great to have a toggle which locks the lights to the camera. I often have very dark spots on my models and continuosly have to tweak the light. |

The light already is locked to the camera ... if you spin the camera around then the light follows so that it stays at the same relative angle (e.g. over the right shoulder). Or do you really mean you want it locked to a specific position, so you can aim it at the dark areas, then no matter from which angle you're viewing from, they stay lit?
Would an ambient light slider be better? Dialing that up would fill in the dark areas no matter where the light source is.

Yes please. An ambient light slider would be nice for those small, dark hard to reach crevices. I have been marking those areas "glowing green" to help me, but an ambient light slider would save me the trouble. |

Excellent! An ambient slider is less work :-) I'll have a look at that sometime soon hopefully.

Actually, I just remembered ... clicking the grey "Light" button in the Display panel turns off the light completely, giving you total ambient illumination. Its sort of hidden in a way because the button looks a bit like a normal label, but LMB click on the "Light" anyway.
So at the moment at least you have a way to turn the ambient on or off, but I'll still look at a slider sometime for finer control.
