Yes, this seems to have fixed all my problems. I suppose this is the first time I have worked with a model this high in polys inside of UVLayout /shrug.
I have 8 GB of ram and have never had issues like this, but such is life:). Onward - back to work. |

" extremely jumpy and it goes off into space sometimes "
That's when zooming with the middle wheel, yes? You can turn the zoom speed right down under the Preferences; its the "Wheel" slider, and move it to the left for slower zoom.
Also, if you ever lose the mesh, hit Home (or ","). That refocuses the view onto the visible polys.

I guess the hardware display thing makes sense - hardware overlays aren't supported in OS X from what I've read. Unless that's completely different. |

Yes, overlay planes are different to double buffering. Most applications would either run in single of double buffer mode all the time, and the fact that I'm switching between the two all the time is why redraws are being lost.

I think I've finally fixed the missing redraw bug! Actually, I've thought that a few times over the last week and then it would come back. But I've been using this lasted fixed version for most of today and all was smooth sailing.
If you want to try it out yourself, there's a new OS X Pro version installer on the uvlayout.com Support Extras page. if it does or doesn't fix it at your end, I'd love to know either way :-)

Phil,
Looking good so far. I've tried a couple of meshes and haven't had a single redraw problem.
I will work with it in the next couple of days and let you know if anything comes up.
Thanks. |

hmmm - I can't seem to use the R relax brush. It's saying "Couldn't Find Corners" |

save doesn't work. This is an old bug I remember seeing but it was fine in 2.06.02.
edit: nevermind. Seems to have just been that one session. Odd |

cgbeige-
I tested both the relax brush and optimize after reading your post. They both work for here. At least so far. I'm on 10.6.2 with an 8800GT.
I did have one crash where everything disappeared and another on an out-of-memory error after running segment. However I've had those in the previous version as well. |

I just tried it with a simpler mesh and it's still a problem. I'm on 10.6.2 with a Geforce GTX 285 |

it's weird - the f-key optimize works fine but not the Run For button command. and the Shift-R relax brush works, just not the normal R brush one. |

Dumb question, but the manual says the R and Shift R keys are no longer supported, though the Shift R still works, but the R doesn't. Are sure you want the relax brush and not the flatten brush?
I looked at the tuts and it seems that the flatten brush does the same thing. That's a "b" key. |

ah - ok, that works. But the Optimize/Run For is still a problem. Yours works? |
