Ok, this is the deal. I did the first UV unwrap in UVL. I got the UV's how I wanted them.

Then I saved the OBJ with the UV layout and imported it back into Maya. I worked on the UV's some more in Maya. I saved the Maya MB file with the new UV layout. I then exported the Maya MB file back into an OBJ file to put back into UVL to re-flatten the UV's in the new layout and make them uniform.

The problem is when I re-import the latest OBJ file into UVL all the UV information is gone and I am back a square 1.

What am I doing wrong? I thought that I could do this as a work flow. Can I?

OK, it looks like I founjd a partial answer in this thread.

"Importing/bringing UVs into UVLayout"

http://www.headus.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=656&highlight=reimport+obj+maya+uvs

But the problem now is that I cannot find the "Load Options" to select "Edit" so I can import the UV set of my newest OBJ export file.

If you're using UVLayout stand-alone, then the New/Edit options are in a small window that pops up underneath the file selection window.

If you're using UVLayout via the plugin interface, then click on the "Set Load Options" button at the top of UVLayout's main GUI window to bring up the same options window.
