I'm using version 1.20.2

I was saving and overwriting two files while laying out UVs for about 2 hours.

When I was done, I loaded the mesh in maya, then tweaked it further in Maya. When I tried re opening the mesh in Maya, there were no UVs. I overwrote both the files, and neither had UVs.

I don't know wtf happened.

I tried saving it as a uvl file, then running another headus simultaneously.
The uvl file wouldn't open. "mesh topology too broken to load" error. I tired loading it with clean edges. no luck. It won't even open the obj file. it crashes at "loading.3/obj...edges"

I downloaded the v2 demo, and tried opening it, but the obj files don't have UVs. The uvl files do, but some shells are triangualted, and when I drop the UVs back into the edit view, many of them are "exploded".

I don't know how long this will take to get a reply, but I'm leaving the old headus I had (v1.20.2) open with the file. I'm afraid that if I close it, I'll have to start all over again. Hopefully there won't be a blackout or anything tonight, or some one turns off the computer while I'm away from home.

I hope I added the attachment correctly in this forum.
saving it as a ply file saves it without UVs either.

Check the Preferences in your running v1.20 ... if "Set All UVs on Save" isn't ticked, try turning that on and see if it helps with the OBJ export.

Other than that, obviously there's a bug in v1.20.2 regarding the UVL saves. That version was the very first release to support N-sided polys (ie sides greater than 7), so it wouldnt surprise me if something was broken.

If you have a uvlayout.com account, I strongly recommend that you download and use the latest versions. Many many bugs have been fixed since v1.20.

I guess there's bugs with ply, UVL and OBjs then.
So I unwrap this thing again?

Is there any way to scavenge my progress?

dude, UVLayout is so fast...lol - I can Unwrap and export my UV's to ZBrush in 2 minutes!

My Computer Relaxes the Layout so fast, I have to be Quick To press spacebar!

Best would be to just do it over - It's fun anyway.

dude, it took me over 2 hrs, and that's WITH headus. It's a mesh with a bunch of bit's and pieces.
Anyway, I'm starting it over.

"Is there any way to scavenge my progress?"

No, sorry. All v1 versions were pre-release betas (v2 was the official release) and the advice at the time was to save regularly, and check that the saved files were OK.
