What are rubber bands called and how do I control them?

Okay, there's the occasional problem with terminology, and that can lead to being unable to find something in the documentation PDF quite simply because I have no idea what I'm looking for.

In this case, it's rubber bands. At least *I* call them rubber bands. The stretchy yellow and black lines that force cavities to hold a shape, even after you chop right through them.

I cannot figure out how to remove them. I cannot figure out how to add them when I want to. I think this is mostly because I do not know what they are called.

That's officially called "webbing". When you use Shift-F, its automatically applied to holes in the shell. The idea is that it helps to keep the holes open when the shell is flattened; in earlier versions of UVLayout, holes would sometimes collapse because of the polys around it pushing in.

You can turn webbing edges on and off with T (on), Shift-T (toggle connected) and Backspace (off).
