|
|
Steps to reproduce:
In UVLayout control panel, open Display, Pack and Optimize menus.
Top buttons for min, About and max vanish mysteriously.
Close any of the three and they reappear.
Close all three and open all the other menus. They disappear again. Close any one and they reappear. |

(I do apologise -- I'm VERY good at finding bugs. I work for Yahoo! heheh) |

Yeah, its the GUI toolkit I'm using (tcl/tk) that's doing that. I think if the vertical size of the expanded window is bigger than the screen, it begins to drop rows. Because its not fatal, I haven't worried too much about it before now. Also you can get around it by opening up the floating panels instead (click on the right arrows).
I do agree though that it is a bit annoying and not pretty, so hope to clean it up someday!

Hmm... have you looked at WxWidgets or Qt? Both display more natively, and are designed to support Win32, XWindows, OS X Quartz (and even other stuff like old MacOS, Amiga and so on, not that anyone cares about anything except the first three). It should be fairly straightforwards to port since most GUI APIs have strong similarities, and it would result in something less Motif-y (which doesn't faze me but I have seen other people complain that the UI was 'weird' and 'unixy' on Poser forums and chats and stuff). |

That's exactly how you'd describe me :-) But yes, I've seen comments like that too. One day I might very well have a look at a different GUI toolkit, but for now its works well enough to get the job done, and the more interesting stuff (i.e. what goes on in the 3D window) is the main focus.
