I've been working on a project recently and it seems that when I zoom the view to a particular piece of geometry in my mesh to cut it the geometry seems to disappear, looking like a masking effect of some kind. Is there a way to disable this feature? |

Its probably the front clipping plane that's hiding the geometry.
Aim the mouse pointer at the piece of mesh you want to zoom in to, then tap the Home key to focus the view on that area. Not only will it fix the clipping problem, but if you rotate the camera it will then pivot around those polys.
The mouse wheel, if you have one, will also zoom and it does the "Home" focusing automatically.
