Heya. this isn't a full fledged bug. More like a larva. A polish sort of thing. In the sense of "polishing it up" not the sense of "sauerkraut and sausage".
Anyway:
When you set time in optimise, the text box keeps the focus.
When you do other things afterwards -- things that involve use of the spacebar to stop them -- the spaces seem to end up in that text box. When you go to change the time-- say it's lunch and you figure "hell, run for an hour" -- there's a tonne of spaces to erase or select and it looks pretty weird. |

The text box will keep focus while your pointer is over the GUI windows, but as soon as you hit a key (including space) with the pointer over the 3D window, the focus should shift. I just tested it here and it worked.
Maybe it was just a temporary confusion. Can you get it to go wrong consistently?
