Hi,

I just finished laying out my UV Map. I was running a test on it, and discovered that one section is inverted. To make sure I put some text on the map and the rendering program shows the text reversed.

Is there any way to correct this error of mine? Question Question

Hi there could be a couple of things to check. If the peice has a " white wireframe " in the " UV View " you might have flipped it over with the " up / down, left / right " arrow keys. Just point mouse at shell and push one of these keys to flip it back.
If it has a dashed blue edge and tint in the " Edit View " the normals of those polygons are reversed or facing inwards and presently you need to fix this in your modelling software before you import into UV Layout. Hope it helps, if not you can post the file here for Phil to check.

Good answer Lewi ... I would have only suggested the first case, but the second reason there is also a strong possibility. If the geometry itself is inside-out (ie surface normals point inwards), then the flattened shell wont be white trimmed, but the mapped texture will appear inverted. You can fix it by flipping that shell with the arrow keys.

"if not you can post the file here for Phil to check."

Or email it direct to me if you don't want everyone to see it.

Phil

Thanks. I ended up flipping the shell. It worked like a charm.
