HI there...
I was wondering if there is a method for copying UV from one element of a model onto another.
Basically I have a humanoid model with symmetry. I use the find symmetry on the mesh and do all the UVs for body, clothing and head. Everything is cool. The model also carries 2 identical daggers in each hand. These daggers are separate objects inside the obj file. Now due to my brief these daggers are mirror images of each other and I am required to pack all the uvs into a single UV 021 space.
So... what i am asking is there a method for flattening out one dagger and then copying a mirror version of its UVs onto the other daggers topology... so exactly the same function as the find symmetry on the main body, but for separate object elements inside the obj?
(um.. i think that makers sense:)

Actually, I just re-read your question and have a possible answer.
As you can see in the other post, there isn't a "copy UVs" yet, but what you want can still be achieved with the symmetry tool. This means that you have to do the symmetry Find first, before flattened either of the daggers, then all your work on one will be copied over to the other one.
Click on Symmetry Find, then LMB select an edge on one dagger, then MMB select a matching second edge on the mirror image dagger, then hit Space to continue. Now the two separate objects within that one file are matched up and the cutting and flattening will be copied across as you do them. I think this is covered in UVLayout-Symmetry-Find-2 movie.
By the way, if the daggers weren't mirror images then this wouldn't work, so you are lucky there!
