Hi Andreseloy,
Do you mean you already hit 'shift-s' while hovering the mouse over the
model and it didn't split?

I'm encountering errors saying it can't find a split after hitting Shift-S. Another issue I'm finding although I need to double check something first is that when using symmetry it grays out half a head for instance. I assume it means the mesh is symmetrical but in the UV edit section after flattening half the shell it won't copy the symmetrical half using S as it should. I need to look into something first before saying this is in fact a problem but the splitting error is.
Strangely enough the mesh wasn't symmetrical. Not sure when or how it changed on one side but I recut the mesh in half and mirrored it and it worked. So no problem there.
One other thing I haven't found. Is there a way to split an edge on the interior of the shell. Right now I have to cut from the edge in the weld what I don't want cut. Also is there a Redo button? ctrl-z for undo but didn't find a redo. |

"Is there a way to split an edge on the interior of the shell."
You could maybe use the G hotkey to mark interior polys that can then be detached with Enter, then welded back together except for the edges you want split.
Or try the latest release (v2.00.05) with the undocumented preference "Open Cuts in UV View"; its on by default, and so the cuts are opened up as you're used to. If you untick that preference, then when you cut they don't open up. You'll still have to cut in from the outside edge, but at least the cut-in-edges can be welded back without changing the UVs.
"Also is there a Redo button? "
No sorry, not yet.
