Hello, I would like to know when I export a OBJ file out of uv layout and bring it into a 3D package why it is so big and I have to scale it down to proper size? |

I don't think it changes the size of the obj. I just tested this with a Poser obj (Poser uses the smallest obj sizes I know of). I copied a Poser obj and remapped it in Layout and saved it with a new name. Then I load both the original obj and the remapped version in Poser and they are identical in size.
Which prog are you exporting the obj out of, and which prog are you importing your mapped model back into? |

It Think it is the import settings in Softimage. Probably the scale setting is to high.
Although I never worked with SoftImage.
I work with Cinema4D and the standard Import of OBJ files is to big either.
In Cinema4D you can set the import scale of OBJ files to a lower one.
Peace,

In UV layout can you not seam everything back together again once you have made your UVs? Just so everything is how it was once the object was first imported? |
