My company purchased a floating key for uvlayout v2. For some odd reason, I can't seem to connect to the license server, while a few others can.

In the license manager preferences I added the HLServer "\\<name>", but hlmanager reports, "Trying aarbrown@<name>...hlmanager: Problems connecting to license server <name>"

*(<name> == name of our license server, omitted for security).

I tried adding a text file to the \lib directory, hlserver.txt, with the server "<name>" in the file, and then with the server "\\<name>" in the file, but neither worked.

Our IT guy is completely stumped. I'd really like to use this program, but can't get past this issue.

Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?

The results of the telnet test will give a clue as to where the problem might be.

From the way you say that, it sounds like you aren't running the latest release. We changed it to a more automated "server discovery" method. If the client is on the same sub-net as the server, then it'll find the server with one button click, avoiding any problems with typo's in server names etc.
