I am missing a simple feature from Maya which currently makes me have to send meshes back and forth between the two packages; Move and Sew. When I weld two shells in UVLayout and hit enter it stretches the shells to meet each other which forces to to re-unfold the shells. Whereas in Maya it preserves the entire shape and just moves the smaller of the two shells to the larger's position. Sometimes when I uvmap more mechanical stuff, preserving my square shapes I've setup in Maya is important so I can't relax the shells.
The other thing that would be nice to see is to rotate a shell to snap to a 90 degree angle based on the edge I choose. I made a script to do this in Maya once, and now I can't live without it
I know there are align tools in UVLayout but I can't figure out how they work. |
