Hello Guys,

I just download the Demo version just to test the program ,i made a quick sphere to cinema4d exported to headus but i cant see the update button ( i am not getting any erros when loading) in order to update and not to save the file ( from what i notice when you save and not updating the objects of a mesh become solid to one object, i want to avoid that i need to animate few parts)

Any help?

This is what i am getting ,

The "Update" button is not needed in current versions of UVLayout; the "Save" now does what Update used to, which is merging the new UVs into the original OBJ file, preserving all your material properties and smooth shading etc.

I dont quite understand what you mean by the object becoming solid though. Is it that your scene has multiple separate objects/groups defined, but when you load the OBJ back into C4D, all that has gone and you've just got everything combined into one object?

If that's the case, try this test ... save out your object to an OBJ file, then load it right back in again without doing anything with UVLayout. If you get the single object, then the problem is not with UVLayout, but with the OBJ export and import tools in C4D. You might have options when saving or loading the OBJ, so check all of them.

Phil
