I accidentally grouped some shells together somehow, and I don't know how to un-group them. I probably hit a hotkey of some sort (I'm a typo-queen), but I looked through the manual and can't figure out what. I thought maybe it was "stack" but it's not. When I try to move one shell, two more are following it around and I can't make them quit it. If I make one shell green, the others light up and I'm out of ideas.

Please help?

Click on "About UVLayout" at the top of the GUI, then open up the Edit Preferences and you'll see a "LMB Pick" option down the bottom to choose between UVL, Maya and 3DS. Set it to which one you're most familiar with, and then the left button picking will work in that way.

By default (i.e. "UVLayout" style), its like this ...

Code:
LMB         : click to pick/unpick single shell
: click'n'drag to pick multiple shells
: click in empty space to unpick all shells

The selection style wasn't the issue. It was just continually picking the same three shells any time I clicked on one of them, like in a group. I tried clicking in empty space to deselect them, and they looked deselected, but then they would group up again when I tried to pick one.

I shut down the program last night and just fired it up again this morning. Everything seems fine so far, must have been a glitch? I flattened all three shells as the same time (not sure how, I was pushing a lot of buttons and kinda tired), maybe the grouping thing just stuck or something when it shouldn't have. Either way, all looks well right now. But thanks for the quick response and advice, because I am mad in love with this program! Best $200 bucks I have ever spent.

Ahhh, OK, sounds like a bug! Its supposed to watch out for those cases where the middle gets detached before the sides, and deal with it correctly, but my guess is that's what might have happened here.

If it happens again, undrop (Shift-D) the problematic shell, then when you drop the pieces back down into UV space, they should separate.
